Hold domestic violence perpetrators to account.
A world-first app to break the cycle of reoffending.
In New South Wales Australia, over 15% of those accused of domestic violence re-offend within 12 months, with over 50% of this occurring prior to their court appearance. Miroma Project Factory collaborated with the NSW government to develop a world-first app to hold domestic violence perpetrators to account by increasing compliance with their Apprehended Domestic Violence Order.
The app used goal setting, mood tracking and timely interventions to deliver light-touch behavioural change and promote self-awareness, encouraging users to recognise their triggers and they can access referral pathways to get the help they need to change their behaviour.’
The Avow app puts information perpetrators need to comply with their ADVO at their fingertips.
The launch of the app was met with international recognition for taking a progressive approach to tackling one of society’s most serious crimes. AVOW has since been trialled with NSW Police both through Domestic and Family Violence Liaison Officers and for general use in stations.
