Way To Blue wins global comms brief for world-renowned video game studio, Kojima Productions
Independent video game development studio, Kojima Productions, has appointed Way To Blue as its retained global communications and marketing partner.
Way To Blue has been tasked with delivering a global integrated communications strategy that will look to create, promote and amplify stories through digital, social, PR and creative content production for the Tokyo-based brand founded by legendary games creator, Hideo Kojima.
Last year Kojima Productions launched the award-winning video game, Death Stranding for the PlayStation 4 and will see the release of the PC version arriving on July 14, 2020. The game includes star performances from an award-winning cast including Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Tommie Earl Jenkins, Troy Baker and Lindsay Wagner.
Way To Blue’s brief will be two fold. Firstly, this week the agency utilised its global footprint to expand the Kojima Productions social media footprint to 7 new languages.
In the second phase, Way To Blue will also deliver a global press office programme, digital creative content production as well as supporting Kojima Productions with creative campaigns.
“Way to Blue gets it,” said Jay Boor, Global Head of Marketing & Communications at Kojima Productions. “Their approach to this entire process was authentic, intelligent and refreshing. This is a group that not only understands how to work with you to help create and effectively tell your story, but can also pull back the curtain to show you real, tangible results, and the value that they are bringing to the table. “
Way To Blue’s UK Managing Director, Neil Kleiner added, ‘Way To Blue has worked with some of the greatest storytellers in film and TV for over 20 years. As we widen our focus towards gaming, Kojima Productions is a dream win for us. Under the leadership of the legendary Hideo Kojima, they are rightly considered one of the most visionary studios within the gaming industry (or perhaps any industry). We’re incredibly excited to partner with Kojima Productions, which sits at the intersection between cinematic entertainment and the ‘future of play’ as we look to build awareness for Death Stranding for PC.’
